I thought your budget was $10,000.

Make that $1900 by adding another 7950 baby!
and throw in 100 mint candies!

Make it a dual motherboard setup!

Without logic, everything is possible!

also, i would lol if he actually got 2 7950s together, then that computer would last a very long time, the only thing i'm worried about is the PSU if he does that.

1000w, $5 less lol

By the way. He should get an i7 + cooler and a better motherboard paired with a single 7970

CPU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 (go with an I7 if you're doing hyperthreading tasks, get a CPU fan if you're going to overclock)
Wouldn't it be better to get a 2550K instead? It excludes the on-chip GPU and is clocked a little higher.

I'm really aiming for the goodies here. I just want the machine to run anything I throw at it.

CPU - i7-3770k
CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 EVO
GPU (x2) - GTX 670
MOBO - EVGA Z77
PSU - Cooler Master 1000w Silent Pro Gold (Modular)
RAM -  G.SKILL Ripjaws 16GB
CDDVD - LG DVD Burner
HDD - 1TB WD Black
(Optional) SSD - 120GB Intel SSD
Total comes to $2,126.62 CAD after taxes (not including SSD) .. More powerful than anything anyone else has offered you, albeit slightly over your 2k budget. Of course i could have put together something much more powerful but this kept fairly close to your budget.

I didn't include case because that's mainly your personal taste. You'll likely spend over $100 on one as it'll need to be very roomy. With case, expect it to total around $2250 CAD after taxes (not including SSD).

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE if you really can't spend over $2000 CAD just go for this GPU (x1) instead of 2 670s. Voila.
