I think that one improvement could be to somehow remove shadows on the ground. That'd make this stand out as original.

I think you should take a large chunk of some random place in the world from Google Earth and put it as the ground texture where the houses are instead of having a repeating block of the same houses.

Yeah, I'm working on that. and i would like to ask a somekind of mapping expert. Will the specularity map texture thingy work like specularity maps do in most of game engines. Example: http://www.etyekfilm.hu/boom_minitutor.jpg
Notice that the spec map is only the part that's named on the image.

I have a cool idea about making a specularity for water only but not for the ground.
