What's your opinion on checkpoint races?

I love them because I'm a masochistic sociopath and something is wrong with me.

The title made me think you wanted to mix races in games, as in half elves or somesuch.
I clearly don't understand English as good as I should.

Timed missions

and when you mess up A LITTLE BIT you fail the mission

You're timed so you have to go fast, but you can't go fast because you have to be careful!

Olympus Colosseum in Kingdom Hearts BBS. forget that stuff.

I actually did Deep Space -- the level after it -- first (despite doing VERY minimal damage to the enemies there, when I first got there each hit lowered their health bar by about a pixel) just so I could be strong enough to kill everything as quick as possible. Otherwise I got down to one enemy around wave 5 or 6 before the clock ran out and I had to start over. I'm just glad I was given the choice to skip that stage for a bit or I'd have probably been stuck there for several hours.

NFS:HP

the missions where you crash you gain time

and you want to finish with a little amount of time

trackmania checkpoints can be the worst.
In sunrise, if you were in the mediterranian area and in a twisty confusing track, you were forgetED
I made a map where it was stationed with the SUV, and half the track is in midair.

And there are no borders, so if you fall off, you'll have to start over again.

splinter cell hd remakes

YOU HAVE TO SAVE YOURSELF

i thought it autosaved when i had done like 2 missions

and then i died

Another peeve:
"Ghost cars" in racing games.
You do a few laps, the race is over, you restart, and then you've got this transparent motherforgeter telling you just how awful you did previously, and teasing you when it gets ahead of you.
loving hell.
If I want to beat my best, then my best time displayed at the top of the screen is more than enough.
I don't need my past life showing me every little mistake I made on the track.
