Naming a generic or original server after a specific popular game because of basic similarities is moronic. It gives the wrong expectations. It either looks like a cheap grab for attention or an attempt to copy a game without any actual knowledge of it.

What about those that play without using the forums?

It does have some resemblance, but only on a simple level. It's much like comparing Blockland and Roblox.
I would expect to actually see something from Skyrim, not something very loosely based on its setting or mechanics, especially when those are so commonly seen in other games.

It's like calling something New Vegas just because it's apocalyptic and dusty, despite it having nothing to do with New Vegas itself.

to make it more like skyrim?

my recommendation would be either to redo the entire thing (the location doesn't exist, the races are different, the lore is different, the buildings are different, just about everything beyond the most superficial comparison is different) or to give it its own original name, which I think it deserves.

OK, so you propose we redo the entire thing. That's an extremely black and white way of putting it considering we've spent two months consecutively working on this. We've basically taken time out of our lives to put hard work into a server we're all proud of. Endgame, Tally and I - as well as the rest of the team - have been working too hard to restart the entire thing a SECOND TIME.

We didn't want to copy Skyrim COMPLETELY. If we did that, we'd have a huge map to follow off, tons more quests to event and way more lore to learn as well as stuff that would need to be scripted. Copying a game into another game is loving handicapped. At that rate, why not play Skyrim itself? Just as Boltster put it. We wanted to give it flair, at least some degree of originality, or something new. We wanted to use Skyrim elements such as dragons, dragon shouts, races as a whole, gold (or septim), levelling and stuff like that. It's harmless, general stuff. There is no harm in labelling it as a Skyrim Jail Escape because it's a Jail Escape with Skyrim elements. No matter how you look at it, it resembles Skyrim - even the least bit. So I have no idea why you're so against it. You gonna scroll through the server list and get all mad at me or something? You could just keep scrolling. Or at least give me a new name for the place.

I meant to imply I would only feasibly suggest you simply give it a name of its own. I had no expectation for you to take the first recommendation seriously.

It's a jail escape with fantasy rpg elements which don't originate in Skyrim. I just found it silly that you would call it Skyrim and even sillier that you're this stubborn about continuing to call it that instead of coming up with something new for its name (in addition to everything else you've done to make it original) after two months of working on something that isn't meant to be Skyrim.
