it's been doing that for a while now.
anyone know why that's happening and how to fix it?

The sag is normal, to give it a realistic feel.

the fact that it goes back out after it retracts. either that's supposed to happen and I hate it, or some setting is wrong.

You're using elastic. Elastic is supposed to expand like that.

Use the hydraulics tool not elastic. If that doesn't help, use elastic. It might help if you tell us exactly what you're trying to do.
