Author Topic: How do I convince my mom to stop spending her money on therapy/medicine for me.  (Read 1220 times)

I've been having some slight depression problems, so my mom decides to waste her money on me like my depression is a serious emo problem. She has been buying me medicine for 2 years and has been taking me to Psephologist for about 3 months now. Neither of them work for me and I keep telling her that. She keeps saying to me "You just have to wait, it doesn't take effect for you so quick." It's been 2 loving years, and all she is doing is wasting her money.

The problem is, when I get older and if/when I really have problems, she won't have the money for it.

How can I convince her?

Don't take the medicine and when you're the same, tell her.

Just get over depression already.

Tell her you feel better now.

Be like:
"Listen mom, stop blowing your money on me, I'm fine"

Tell her exactly what you told us!

Oh you're not really depressed.

Tell her that while you appreciate her support, that you are concerned about the financial welfare of your family and are afraid that if an extremely urgent matter arises, that the money to solve such a problem has been used on purchasing medication. After that, assure her that you'll be fine and she no longer needs to provide you with medication.

I know, she doesn't even realize it though

to be fair, depression is, like, the leading cause of Self Delete.

anti depressants are placebos. They put me on one a little over two years ago and it caused a chemical imbalance. Causing me to have horrible suicidal thoughts and black out for 2 days. I still dont remember what i did those two days. Apparently i even went to work! They do more harm to the body than good. They make you into a zombie and are terrible. Stop taking them! Flush them down the toilet.

I was depressed for a while.
I did need medication (depression/anxiety) but I was able to get over it with that help as well as my own growing out of it and I could eventually stop taking the medication. The medication did help though.
However, here's something. I've heard that people are happiest when they're doing something that requires patience and effort. If you aren't getting enough of that, that might be the problem.

How can I convince her?
Anti depressants cause suicidal thoughts. Let her know that.
All of them do. Because they dont balance the chemicals in the brain. They unbalance them.
Several people i know had the same thing happen and 2 people from my school commited Self Delete because of them.
Parents are idiots. If she doesnt listen or doesnt believe you. Stop taking them.
They will just screw you up.

Tell her that you're actually suffering from teenage angst
