PC gaming will always be around, same with console gaming. Simple as that.
PCs you can upgrade and work with to make them run faster, smoother, handle more stress. Developers will always release on it. Though its pricey. To keep a top of the line rig all the time, you need a decent amount of money. GPUs are expensive. Same with the newest processors. If you don't have tons of expendable income, you simply can't afford to PC game (as well)
Consoles are built incredibly powerful when they first come out, and the developers can work with it and push its boundaries over the years. You can't upgrade its components, so you're stuck as is. This is fine by most people. It still makes stuff look pretty, and if you're going through HDMI, there's hardly any difference between games on PC and games on console. (imo at least)
