Quote
CANNABIS IS NOT A DRUG, AND NEITHER IS IT AN INTOXICANT.

According to the Oxford Pocket Dictionary to intoxicate is to make drunk, excite, elate, beyond self-control. Unlike alcohol cannabis users do not lose self-control. Massive amounts just send them to sleep.

Intoxicants are potentially toxic, that is poisonous, with a certain overdose level often dependent on the individual. There has never been a single death directly attributed to cannabis use, in 5000 years of history, with hundreds of millions of users in the world. There is NO TOXIC AMOUNT OF CANNABIS. One theory states that an amount of 2 pounds eaten in ten minutes, an impossible feat and not certain to cause death. No animal has died of an overdose of cannabis.

Many substances which are mind-altering or mood changing are not drugs : hormones, endorphins, adrenaline.

Conscious-altering substance which we consume but which are not generally regarded as drugs include sugar, caffeine and chocolate.

i'll take your website that i've never heard of and looks like it was made in the 80s, and raise you a reputable website that proves you wrong

as a mother i'd be pretty pissed if my son did drugs (YES IT IS A DRUG)

You do realize of course, that consuming more than 250mg of caffeine induces caffeine intoxication right?

Intoxication just refers to being under the influence of an intoxicant, which both weed and coffee are.

dont worry stocking you'll get it working eventually  :cookieMonster:

Just because Wikipedia is reputable doesn't mean it's correct. Facebook is reputable but i don't use it for my homework. And besides, you are missing the point. Marijuana is a natural substance that you cannot overdose on. It has been proven that the use of cannabis (heavily, and over long-term periods) is not shown to induce, cause, or contribute to any known health problems. Marijuana is non-toxic.

so what, you're suggesting that wikipedia, which cites all it's information, is a less reliable source than that website you linked which cites nothing (and when it does it's a dead end) and is blatantly pro cannabis? (also wtf we're not talking about whether it's good or bad, we're talking about its classification)

might want to come down from your own pot high before you try redefining the standard of proof again

Marijuana smoke contains 50-70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke

Quote from: Stocking
Marijuana smoke contains 50-70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke

Quote from: a smart person
Oh right. So many more carcinogens, in fact, that more than 440,000 people are dying from marijuana induced lung cancer each year in the united states.... oh, wait... no,.... thats TOBACCO.

But, we all know that Marijuana with all it's carcinogens does cause cancer, right? Oh wait..

Wikipedia is reliable, in most cases, and probably in this case as well; but what I meant was that you cannot go around calling a plant a "drug" just because Anslinger started calling it that back in the early 1900's to save his oil and lumber business

man you've got from linking to a source i've never heard of to not linking one at all

your case is failing by the minute

Wikipedia is reliable, in most cases, and probably in this case as well; but what I meant was that you cannot go around calling a plant a "drug" just because Anslinger started calling it that back in the early 1900's to save his oil and lumber business
define: drug
drug/drəg/
Noun:
A substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body, in particular.

does marijuana have a physiological effect on the body? yes
is it a drug? yes
does your fanboy attitude towards it change it's classification? no

the Anslinger thing only relates to it being banned/non legal. it being defined as a drug is because of it's properties

So if I go outside and eat a dandelion, get a tummy ache and a headache: It suddenly becomes a drug
Thats some of the dumbest stuff ive ever heard

does the dandelion have a standard and repeatable physiological affect across multiple people? no

cannabis does. that's why it's a drug. if you're actually 18 you must be mentally impaired not to understand me.

i'm not even anti cannabis, i'm just not ignorant about it's classification.

Black people smoking pot

your argument is invalid.

It's classification is invalid. The plant was not a drug 500 years ago, it only became a drug when man classified it as one.
All other drugs are actually drugs, meaning they are a compound, man-made, or man-added substance.

The way you make it sound, everything is a drug. If I eat an apple, my tummy feels better and so do my eyes, does that make it a drug? I smoke weed and it effects me in no way except for the fact i get happy, hungry, sleepy. I get that with a few hours of playing blockland, so is blockland a drug? I ingest it mentally (don't mind the pieces of my hard drive laying around)
