Author Topic: A particle that matches the Higgs Boson is discovered today.  (Read 757 times)

I'm not really sure what this implies but I know it was a 45 year search and it has to do with the universe. @.@

discuse. also tell me what this means please.

Isn't the Higgs Boson an explanation for how, if atoms are in now way connected, they can take on solid shape?

Right it is. I think the idea is that there is a wave of energy that permeates our very existence. All matter is held up in this energy like broccoli in jello.

Higgs Boson is what is thought to give matter mass. They found something that they think a higgs boson would look like.

Yes, that is Steven Hawking, what about him?
But... but...
HIS FACE
WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS FACE?

Have you people never seen Steven Hawking before?

why dos he talk lik a robot?????

Didn't they like say this 1 year ago but the results turned out to be misleading and untrue?

I think that was when they broke the speed of light. That wasn't true and it sounds similar to this.

It's the particle that would be responsible for the existence of mass, and as a result from that, weight and gravity. It's also apparently responsible for making "negative mass" impossible. Rather unfortunate, actually. It crushes my dreams of making a gravity gun IRL.

If we were to be able to control these particles, though, you could do all sorts of crazy stuff including increasing or decreasing gravity inside buildings.

OH HELL YES. GRAVGUN IS POSSIBLE AGAIN!
Just make a massive burst of Higgs Bosons, and BAM repel beam! Oh hell yes oh hell yes STEVEN HAWKING, GET ON IT. You too that guy over there that works for NASA. Oh and Aperture Science and Black Mesa, we could use your help. Kthnks.
