Author Topic: Xbox 360 DLC transfer. Assistance needed.  (Read 421 times)

Here's the scenario:
-My Live account is not the account on which TES Dawnguard was installed on my Xbox.
-I installed Dawnguard onto my Xbox with the primary family pack account, and played it on my own account.
-It worked for a few days.
-Today I decided to move downstairs, taking my save files and profile with me.
-I move my account and save files onto a USB, insert the USB into the port on my downstairs Xbox, and moved them onto that console.
-I start up the game.
-DLC doesn't work, despite having been moved to the USB with the rest of the files.
-I look online and find that the account that installed the DLC has to be on the same console as the account you're playing it with.
-I look, the primary account is shared between both consoles.
-I sign into the primary account and reinstall the DLC to the hard drive.
-I start up Skyrim.
-DLC doesn't work.
-Give up, decide to move back upstairs.
-Move Skyrim files and profile to the upstairs console.
-Start up Skyrim.
-DLC doesn't work.
-Give up, decide to consult a forum that knows infinitely more about this sort of thing than I do.

Tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or, if it'd save space, tell me what I'm doing right.

Never try freely moving downloadable content between different consoles, especially through USB devices instead of through their networks. Microsoft is strict as forget about that, and I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be able to transfer large downloadable content by USB to begin with. You've transferred minor DLCs that way before?

Point being, never transfer DLCs by USB. And you really should not try freely moving them between consoles. It pisses Microsoft's systems off. Do what KoopaScooper said.
