Author Topic: Tips to safely gain weight?  (Read 3056 times)

Pulled pork sandwiches are damn good.

I actually don't know seriously though, I never had this problem. It might just be your metabolism, which would mean it's nigh on impossible for you to gain any weight. I'm not in unhealthy shape, though, and I do eat a good bit of chocolate and a bunch of snack bars; eat whenever you are hungry at all.

Btw, I agree with blaman.

Probably should have mentioned this:

I've got this weird condition where my body rejects meats. Forgot the big fancy term for it which I should have remembered- but I'm basically a forced vegetarian.

Bacon grows on trees, right?
Right!?

Some nice tips in here though, but nothing I haven't heard before.

And don't worry; I know binging and eating stuff like doughnuts (although delicious) and fast food is probably one of the worst ways to gain weight.

I also try to avoid those weird protein mixes like pea extract or whatever... They're gross and probably aren't very good for me.

You'll just have to deal with being thin then, I'm afraid

I know I've got a body that girls would kill for, but...
Yeah, you're probably right.

Don't change your diet just work out like a motherforgeter.
You want to gain muscle not fat.

I currently have extremely small wrists I'd like to fix that so I'm going to start doing forearm muscle building.

Set up a workout schedule do stuff EVERYDAY.

You can change everything it's up to you, don't deter people because you don't feel you can change the things you want.

Every healthy person has tight small wrists. There is no muscle there.
Working your forearms will build the muscle just after your elbow, your wrist won't change much.

The most important trick to gaining muscle mass is to not listen to advice from overly thin and scrawny teenagers on the internet.

No.

Building up your forearm muscles is going to make your wrists look even smaller.

Can you eat eggs and dairy at all?

That's because there isn't some magical secret. Weight lifting and proper nutrition will get you there.

Well you're kinda screwed. You just have to
Have your calorie intake exceed your calorie expenditure. This is the only way.
Ie. Don't exercise and
Sit on a computer all day.

I eat quite healthily and loathe fast food, but I don't move much so I weight ~90kg.

Lots of healthy calories and if you're really skinny and want to gain weight your goal should actually be 25% fat 25% protein 50% carbs as opposed to a fat person trying to get skinny would do 25% fat 25% carbs 50% protein.

Ie. Don't exercise and
No. Just eat more than you expend, but still exercise. If you don't exercise then all of your extra energy becomes stored energy (fat).

I don't think a little fat would hurt on OP.

I'm about 6" and I weigh 42kg. Yeah- really loving skinny.
You're only 6 inches tall?

I have the same problem.

12 years old, 5' 1", 80lbs.

Been eating a lot better than before and not been able to gain a lot of weight. Growth spurt should help, or not, runs in the family being small people. Dad is one 5' 5", Mom is 5' 1"...
