It seems to be a lump of... Tingalium? That explains why you couldn't transmute it. Tingalium is a strange material. No one really knows what it is. On an atomic level, the particles seem to shift and move around at random intervals while still containing the same general shape and properties. Tingalium is very indestructible and you cannot transmute it. It is a very stubborn and alien element and is not natural to Earth. It was used to create the Great Lock. It's creator is said to be the only one that can use Tingalium to its full potential.
