Author Topic: Smoke alarm went off, it was completely random.  (Read 1508 times)

so yeah, the smoke alarm went off.
except for the fact that nothing caused it to go off.
we literally checked every place we could, not even a source of smoke.
nothing outside caused it, which leads us to 2 things.
the stuffty weather or the god damn thing just decided to forget everything and go all out.

solution: unplug motherloving every smoke detector and plug them back in one at a time.
none of them were the problem but it stopped.

side story: a year ago the fire alarm went off, then it stopped 5 seconds later.

so, uh, discuss fires and random alarm related stuff going off for no reason.

At least your walls didn't randomly start smoking one day.

stuff, that was terrifying.

They usually go off for seemingly no reason to warn you that their batteries are low.

engineers are stupid now.
why not just make it an annoying beep every 30 seconds like a normal fire alarm?
also, WHY EVERYONE?

no but we got washing machines which broken down produces smoke and triggers the fire alarm.
someone tried putting a loving matress in a small washing machine and paid the $1.25 to run it.
fire alarm 1 minute later.

what the forget

brother went full handicap. doesn't he know you only put mattresses in industrial size washing machines?

A lot of electrical fires can start and be in the walls and you wouldn't know it for a good few minutes.
Also. Change the batteries. They are dying.

his explaination to the firefighters: this is an experiment.
lol in a public washing machine.
he's a dumbass but is in denial.
end result: he got evicted from his apartment and notes came on the washing machines saying "DO NOT PUT LARGE ITEMS LIKE MATTRESSES INTO THE WASHING OR DRYING MACHINES!!!"

There was no noticeable fire. The walls just started smoking and stopped after like 5 minutes.

My house does not have fire alarms in it, not that we need to worry because most of the house is fireproof.
