Author Topic: Colorset I'm working on, could use some color suggestions.  (Read 2715 times)

This colorset looks really cool in-game.  Some more suggestions:

The transparent row is a bit too faint, you can almost barely see any color in it.
Also, a few pairs of colors look almost exactly the same/are too similar to be useful
Scales 1-7 + Scales 2-7
Scales 1-6 + Scales 2-6
Scales 1-5 + Scales 2-1

I'd suggest you either replace one of the pair's colors are make it different enough for it to be more useful.

Other than those things,  This is a really cool colorset.  Good job :)
(my only other beef being that the rows aren't 9 colors each, but since they're even it isn't really a problem.)

Seventh column doesn't really need greys.

Those are really cool greys and look totally different than the regular greys and could be used for a lot of other things.  I'd say he should keep them but that's just my opinion.

Intentional, 2-7 is brighter and a bit more vibrant.
1-6 and 2-6 are noticeably different to me
Changed 2-1 in the picture, it'll be the new color once I release it.

this.

I made them a bit more blue though.

I like them a lot more, now.

Those greys are fantastic and incredibly useful in any style of building.

There are to many deep dark browns.  Lighten it up.  Add a nice soft wood brown.

well, I agree, they are noticeably different to me as well.  But I'm saying they're not different enough to be worth having in the same colorset.  But your call on keeping them.

brown scale prob dosnt need to be so big.
could make that line have 4browns, 4greens
them nature areas tend to need more shades then city builds

Those top 4 in that column were supposed to be grays, but eh.

The thing is, you can't satisfy everyone.

Here's Bisjac saying you only need 4 browns, but yet people were telling me 6 wasn't enough.

I think you need more browns that would actually look good in builds instead of this huge selection of chocolate browns we have floating around in most other colour sets.
I don't want my tree to look like a bar of Cadbury's milk chocolate, I want it too look like it's made out of wood!

Aww we lost those good quality unique greys..

Decided to revert back to 2 greens.
I'm thinking of making a seperate version with more greens and browns for terrain.

Brought them back and added a bit more color to them. I should've kept those in; haven't seen them in hardly any other colorset.

Made 3 new browns that I desaturated quite a bit. Will that work?

I'm more than welcome to improve my colorset, but as soon as I updated it, everyone stopped commenting.
