No it isn't there is pop and then there is punk. If it encompasses both genres than it is 'pop with punk elements' or 'punk with pop elements' depending on which genre is more prevalent. Also yes I am because Blink 182 is just joyously bad and I think it's hilarious you are trying to defend them.

It's not a singular genre.

It's not a singular genre, it shares elements of TWO genres, so therefore it fits into the description of TWO genres.

So instead of saying "It's a pop song that has punk elements." You say "It's a pop-punk fusion."
