Author Topic: Am I good at building?  (Read 1499 times)

Try to focus on the building, it's supposed to be an abandoned one.

Good, but needs more detail.

Instead of all the Blinds the same size make them diffrent and add yellow to create a light effect look on the building,

anyways 8/10 . fix it up a bit.

This building hasn't been inhabited in 20 years.

I will note that.

That method looks stuff.

9/10, it looks pretty great dude.

you barely gave us any pictures, and what i can see is that it's super boxy and the blinds are spammy (unless this was done for an artistic affect) and you can see the floor from the outside which makes an ugly blend of brown and gray on the outside.

Basically what everyone else said.

Go for more detail on the walls (5-height bricks are horrible for exteriors). I would personally use 1x3 bricks in a brick configuration, painted a mixture of Standard 7 and Standard 8 (assuming you're using the standard colorset), perhaps with a couple of bricks missing to further cement the "abandoned building" look.

Having the floor/ceiling baseplates be visible on the outside is a no-no, especially when they're different colors from the walls.

The vine's a nice touch but IMO it's too "thick." I would substitute some of the 1x1 blocks with 1x1f round studs, to make it look more organic.

The broken windows are cool, but they don't mesh well with the non-broken window bricks. Consider replacing those with 1x4x5 bricks painted Bold 9.

Overall, good build in my opinion.

Maybe we should have a "build critique" thread here.

gallery pls
If this was in gallery, it would be "Apocolypse Build", but i am rather asking how good i am at building

I dislike how the floors are separated by one plate and the fact you can see that from the outside. its interior and exterior no "building". Look
so you see the inside and the outside sorta as layers. This allows for a interesting outside. As well as a interesting inside. So lesson is don't treat interior and exterior like the same thing. There diffrent.
