Author Topic: Auto Download Music mod  (Read 1273 times)

I need an automatic download music mod because people aren't downloading music in my server and they crash. They are too dumb to notice my welcome message saying to download music, even my chats to them to download music.

Except with this mod people could be forced to download music, which is stupid.

Didnt I say something like "they weren't doing it"?

If somebody who is not downloading music crashes, that's a problem with your server, and that's your responsibility.

I never crashed from not downloading music.

The worst in that situation is that the cache gets bigger

Oh ya, this would cause blockland to take up a lot of room on ur computer. Unless it made it's own cache for music content.

My cache is over a gigabyte big, so considering all the disk space I have left is 30gb... That's a lot.

But what if they do release this and everyone started using it. Music files are 3-7mb each song. And every server having multiple songs.

Blockland will not load any music files larger than 1MB.

It's actually possible to evade that, but for general purposes it's not an issue to worry about when placing the file in the cache.

Figured there'd probably be some kind of way to get around it, there usually is.

The game just skips the file, all that has to be done is creating the datablock yourself.

But what if there's like 300 music files that need to be downloaded?
And I don't think a server script can change options, please correct me if I'm wrong.
