Also it's not that bad, some people are afraid of much sillier things.

i always have a CD of relaxing music that I play when trying to go to sleep, it's basically impossible for me to sleep alone without it
you should try that(or use an ipod/iphone/etc)

I do, I have a pistol safe next to my bed a dresser filled to the brim with knives. Doesn't help.
