Okay, so you can't see wind.  Only the evidence of wind.

Mind blown.

Mind blown.
You can't see certain gasses either, but they are there.

Once again someone makes an absolutely stupid brown townogy.
Seeing has nothing to do with it, we know that wind exists, we can feel it.

Why can't religion and science logically mix?  [/rant]
Because if you believe something even as simple as the earth being round or 4.5billion years old instead of what the bible says, then you're saying that the word of a supposedly all-knowing god is incorrect. Which then brings up the question of not only "why is an all-knowing god's word incorrect?", but also "why is his knowledge limited to the knowledge of people of his time?"

I agree that atheism is kinda silly too, since it is exactly what it complains about.
Which is why I'm areligious.
"Believing something and not believing something are both equally stupid!"
There is no option left if you exclude both believing and not believing.

What I'm saying is, how on earth could earth exist, and then life, and then what it is today without a god to create it?  Are you telling me that earth was a completely random chunk of space rock that began to orbit the sun at the exact right distance and exact right spin for life, and then formed and plants appeared for no reason and then some goop turned into cells and the cells to other critters and it became the earth destroying human in no time at all...
completely by chance...

where in the Bible does it say earth is not 4.5 billion years old?

completely by chance... - Yes

I honestly don't understand why non-religious and religious people can't coexist, I mean, if we don't bother one another, nothing will happen.
Even though I am an atheist, I am ashamed that you all have to lash out, at each other; religious folk and non-religious folk alike.

I've never read the Bible cover to cover but I believe it is stated that the Earth is somewhere between 3000 and 6000 years old. If not then this is what those studying the Bible have concluded.

Both of you are contradicting yourselves. Atheism and religion are philosophies of life. If religion is, as you say "wrong" as proven by science, there is no religion. If atheism is "wrong" as proven by religion, then there is no atheism. If there is neither of these things, is there no life? And don't take that the wrong way. Of course, without both we would still be alive. But there would be no progression.

I myself am an atheist. I was raised a Mormon, but have since my birth been on a road of self-discovery. Through this journey I have decided that i cannot live my life the way most people do. It is a personal matter, not a matter of what is morally "right" or wrong. I feel like a good person, and that is because i am. I don't do generically bad things. I don't demote other religious beliefs and I certainly do not tell people of other religious beliefs that they " have no morals". if there is one thing that totally defeats the purpose of Christianity, as well as most other major religions, it is when the members of these sects persecute those who do not believe the same things.

I am, to be frank, sick as hell of "Christians" who claim that their morals are superior to atheists. If you claim to be superior, you are claiming to be superior to your "savior" as he is called.

I'm ranting. TO make it short and simple, I am atheist not because I deny the existence of a higher being. I am atheist, not because i lack morals or because I am a second-rate citizen who wants to be paid for while drinking beer all day. I am atheist because I simply cannot put this life, which is so unbearably short, inb the hands of someone, or something, that I cannot see.
If you're not denying the existence of a higher being, then you're not an atheist either.
You're secular, whether a humanist (as I am), or simply an agnostic.

The chance is very high that a planet like this could exist at some point in the universe (or multiverse, whatever.)
Seeing the size of the universe hasn't even been charted and it's still likely that there are similar conditions.

Then there is the issue of cells forming. There is plenty of time and still plenty of places where and when that can happen.

The whole chance argument is invalid, since unlikely is just stupid.

yay for no religion

We can argue without any trouble; the best arguments are the ones where you can switch sides, because that way you see both clearer.

this is why i'm agnostic
Awesome, you too

Yes. Remember that chance has occured several billion times elsewhere in the universe.
The chance you get heads 5 million times in a row is there too, it's just really really small; but you would get it if you tossed a coin a near-infinite amount of times.

Also, I´m not sure where, but I am sure it says god made the earth ~6000 years ago.

Where's that Jesuslover guy?
Banned for trolling.
