bush's second term was terrible, not going to deny that. but the iraq war was far from "useless" at all. al-qaeda was a serious threat but not much anymore. if you were the president, and your country and its citizens were attacked, what would you do? if you did not retaliate, that would show you are weak and afraid to defend your country. your citizens would lose faith in you and the chances of you being re-elected would become very very slim. prob. nonexistant.
planr
you are very very lost
we could've used 9/11 as a foundation for world peace
I mean, hell
9/11 was one event that made the world stand still
I remember my teacher telling me a story about his brother
who was traveling the world when it happened
he entered greece a day after the fact and the hotel gave him free rooms due to the horror of the event
people were giving him pocket change
but not just him all of these things
all americans who were there
all over the world
when an event strikes one country and it affects all of its populous and the world like that
you can take that
and say
"let us ensure that this will never happen again to our country or to any other."
but no
we had to toss it all away and invade the god damn place
every other country that's ever tried to fight afghanistan/iran/iraq has never won
russia hasn't
england hasn't
we won't
it's a pointless war fighting an invisible enemy
