Many other forums have this ability to like and dislike certain comments and it would be nice if we could do that on here also.

Yes similar to facebook, but the person would need to be logged in to like comments.

I would like this, then instead of having to say that you hate it or like it, you can take up less space and just like or dislike it.

If people are just too negative and mean and some people may get hurt then the dislike button does not have to be there.

I personally think that like and dislike buttons just make everyone involved look stupid. They are used more as an anonymous fanboy/grudge-holder thing than anything else.

what about a rep system as well?
like the more thumbs up, the more good rep you get, vice versa with dislike, only you get bad rep

Youtube doesn't really have a Rep system..

But I detest these ideas. As interesting as they would be, all it would spawn is a bunch of topics about "I have more Rep than anyone!" "Look how many likes on my comments I get, huur" "My Rep is directly proportionate to how cool I am!".

The forums would turn into a Reputation/Like Contest. No thanks.
