I joined this server thinking it had to have some kind of catch to it considering the player amount. I spawn, go through the rules, and pick my spawn point. Well all is going fine, I set my name to Joe Biden, (first thing that came to mind, random). Everything is still fine. Well ten minutes later I decide to change my name to "Colonel Sanders" due to the original nick not clicking with me. A minute later I'm banned for the reason "Abusing the /setname command". How in the hell did I abuse? I am utterly confused about what I did wrong.

 You choose the name of the Vice President then you changed your name to the founder of KFC. That's what you did wrong by the looks of it.

That is hardly a ban-worthy reason. If you are going to give a thought on why I was banned, at least make it something sensible.

It is completely ban-worthy.
We don't want celebrity names because we'd have tons of Gordon Freemans or Bob Marleys running around.
We want a serious roleplay so we have to be strict.

Good moderation is required for ALL serious roleplays.  To do this on a larger scale would simply need this kind of attention.  Whatever you did was just out of line, and simply, as the RP moderators dictate, you'll have to follow the terms - that's understood.  There's really no way out of it without compromising the RP.

We have a microcommunity of at least 25 dedicated people who follow the rules.
