Author Topic: Just soft-modded my Wii, got Homebrew......  (Read 4163 times)

I just soft-modded my Wii did everything right. Then I install Homebrew Browser.
After that I formatted my SD Card not knowing the Homebrew Browser runs off of it? So I put the file back in the sd card then I went to access Homebrew Browser so I could download a Game my Wii crashs. So unplugging and replugging fixed it. Anyways how do I make the Homebrew Browser run off and anything else run off the Wii. Also I heard emulators you download they can have there channel. I didn't see any for the emulator I downloaded?
So what do I do to fix this?

Redownload the Homebrew Browser, delete the old and put the new on your SD card.
Also, get yourself Gecko OS and the files for Project M.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I have a lot of experience on this subject. Soft-modded 11 Wiis in total, tried all methods,
modded the stuff out of brawl, made my own textures/models/animations (I made the ticky-tacky-too taunt on BrawlVault), fixed my own problems I ran into while hacking, etc.

Yes and no. Your warranty will be void when you start hacking your Wii (unless you remove ALL your hacks before sending it in or whatever)

i have a gamecube action replay channel on mine :D

yes. that is true.

but have you heard of apple? in the contract for buying thier devices, you arent actually getting the device. you are paying for a license for the device thay can "revoke" at any time they want. if apple finds out that you jailbroke your ipod or if you made it so you can have different carriers on your iphone. bam. they break the device.

Will do! Is there any way I can download Homebrew Browser directly to the wii so I don't need the SD card for it execpt for the roms? Also how would I make a channel for a snes emulator?

Nope, you need an SD card at all times, except with fully installed channel apps (which I don't recommend)
Also how would I make a channel for a snes emulator?
First, did you REALLY fully softmod your Wii, or did you just put the Homebrew Channel on it? You also need to make a NAND backup when doing more advanced hacks. This will allow you to backup and reinstall your Wii's files when something goes wrong/your Wii gets bricked.
I recommend installing a forwarder app to the SNES emulator. (I'll be referring to the homebrew channel with HBC)
Step 1: Download WAD Manager for your HBC. This will let you install channels.
--Link--
Step 2: Download the Forwarder channel. Channels will come packaged as .wad files, which can be installed to your Wii with the WAD Manager. (You're gonna need the emulator file in your app folder for the forwarder to actually work. The forwarder just starts up the app)
--Link--
Step 3: Put the downloaded WAD Manager files on your SD card.
Step 4: Make a file on the root of your SD card named WAD. Put the .wad file in there.

Hope it helped.
