Why do I have to pick 1080p when I go fullscreen on my 1680x1050 screen? Why stop at 720p?! I HAVE A BIGGER SCREEN, GOD DAMNIT!

i have an iphone that i always use to watch videos so i don't have most of the problems on normal youtube
but then i get the really stupid problems, like not being able to see who replied to who in the comments, and i also will randomly get a popup when i'm trying to watch a video saying about how i'm not authorized to open the file :/

the html5 youtube video thing is horribly broken.  I used to use it because I didnt realize it and i always had tons of problems.

No, wrong. 1080p videos load instantly for me, as they always have.
Recently YouTube stopped caring about that, though, and just stopped anyway. RANDOMLY. Waiting does nothing.

I too was having this problem.  I did a lot of researching and troubleshooting to no avail.  Then I noticed that the old videos played perfectly.  I then studied both the old videos and the newer (or more recently) submitted videos and noticed that many have Pop-up ads.  Noticing this, I turned off my Po-Up Blocker and this fixed my problem.  I can know watch videos without the 5 seconds pausing.  I hope this helps."
