Also, the black bird was not a stealth aircraft, but so fast that they only got part of it on radar, and none in eye sight.

I don't think you get it.
The B-17 Bomber is a propeller plane, it isn't stealth in any way unless it's at night.

Yup, I'm not sure why, but the B-17 has always Ben my favorite plane.

We got that Napalm plane.  Be happy with that.  You could go so far as to edit out the napalm from the script.
