I'm not surprised.  How many other OS X updates (with pricetags LOL.  it's like paying for a patch to a game, not sure how you users can stand that) had problems too?  If I were an Apple user and thank god I'm not, I wouldn't get the updates until some time after the update.  It seems to be that some time after these updates are released, either everyone ignores the problem or they get fixed.

Regarding Apple's slow speech dictation and how they upload your voice to their servers for their master servers to compute:  This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.  Siri does the same thing on iPhones (which hikes your data usage up a buttload and burns your battery further), I can't even begin to think how this is a good idea.  Maybe so that everyone has the same dictation files but still very horrible.

i know nothing about windows at all, since i've never used windows except on library computers to look up books

when i say "learned how to use a mac" im referring to the 2 min it takes to get a hang of the UI. as you cant do much more on a mac but open apps.
or similar to how any child can learn the dvd menu of a movie

to learn how to use windows or linux is to learn how to use computers
