EA is suing the company Zynga for copying the idea and concept behind SimCity Social (or the Sims in general)

I mean look at this stuff. Even the soundtrack almost sounds exactly the same.

also, this isn't the first time Zynga has copied someone's idea.

I really, really, REALLY hate both companies, but i'll have to side with EA on this one. Zynga are huge evil douchebags who has stolen so many games before. I remember a link of every Zynga game and their original, if i find it i'll link it here (includes games like Farmville and Yoville)

The only thing is that since EA is in the stuffter, this lawsuit (depending how much this is going for i dont loving know stuff about finances the economy or whatever) might pull them back up.

If Zygna didn't see this coming they are probably the stupidest company of all time. Their CEO is called Markus Pincus for christ sake.

I hate all companies in the OP

honestly, forget zynga
all they do is copy popular flash games / other games from companies and slap them on the ios / facebook
they are sloppy and i hope they lose

good

zynga and yahoo need to die

GOOGLE + EA + MICROSOFT FOR LIFE

They both need to lose several million on legal fees and get nowhere

honestly, forget zynga
all they do is copy popular flash games / other games from companies and slap them on the ios / facebook
they are sloppy and i hope they lose
i can only hope for this.

good

zynga and yahoo need to die

EA FOR LIFE

forget no, both companies suck really bad. And EA sucks more than Zynga.

Zynga at least slams it's stuff on Facebook. EA slams it's stuff in everyone faces, and does not give a stuff about it.

ea seriously needs to hop off their pedestal and just focus on their games

because theyve seriously been lacking lately.

Games

Copyright does not protect the idea for a game, its name or title, or the method or methods for playing it. Nor does copyright protect any idea, system, method, device, or trademark material involved in developing, merchandising, or playing a game. Once a game has been made public, nothing in the copyright law prevents others from developing another game based on similar principles. Copyright protects only the particular manner of an author’s expression in literary, artistic, or musical form.

Material prepared in connection with a game may be subject to copyright if it contains a sufficient amount of literary or pictorial expression. For example, the text matter describing the rules of the game or the pictorial matter appearing on the gameboard or container may be registrable.

If your game includes any written element, such as instructions or directions, the Copyright Office recommends that you apply to register it as a literary work. Doing so will allow you to register all copyrightable parts of the game, including any pictorial elements. When the copyrightable elements of the game consist predominantly of pictorial matter, you should apply to register it as a work of the visual arts.

here we loving go again

forget ea

Wait...

EA is still a gaming company?

Wait...

EA is still a gaming company?
shocking development.

EA should win this lawsuit. Zynga is nothing but a loving bunch of cynical idiots. The CEO for Zynga is even quoted for saying this, as told by a former employee:

“I don’t loving want innovation,” the ex-employee recalls Pincus saying. “You’re not smarter than your competitor. Just copy what they do and do it until you get their numbers.”

EA, I don't really like, but all I know is that they gotta kick the stuff out of Zynga.

How many people ignored my post?
