LAPD: Old Start
One mans dream is another mans fear

They say the strongest men are those who embrace fear, they say those are the men who have drive to do things, to complete projects. They say men who avoid fear are those who hide from world and themselves, they say those are the men who die without a cause. They say a man who fears nothing is a man who fears everything, as there is no one man who can escape fear. And they say that when these men die, these men of fear, these men who know life, they say that they are the ones who make it into the pearly gates.

But us, we'll be going straight to hell.


Intro
This game is played in a similar style to the old game I had, "The Game". That game was eventually handed off to another forum user, and it had a good amount of pages and everyone seemed to enjoy it, so I am trying my hand at something like this again. What I hope to create is a game that anyone can participate in as long as they can take it seriously, and will be enjoyable for those playing. In addition, I like doing this as well, its fun. Below you will find all the info needed for this game which you don't  have to read, except maybe the important bits like the character sheet and stuff. This game will be relatively short, I will have a nice ending that will lead up to a sequel which I will bring around a little while after that one. that wonderful italics story was written by me just bee tee dubs.

Overview
You and up to 7 other user play a character in the Los Angeles Police Department set in 2022. The world is pretty much the same as it was 10 years ago, but the crime rate has gone up considerably in select cities, yours being one of them. You and your 7 comrades go around the city and get involved in dangerous missions involving gangs, drugs, and various other things. Your mission is too survive, and some of you may die along the way,  but thats all part of the game.

How This Works
One thing I'm going to clear up right now  is that this is not your usual RP, you do not control every movement, you only react. The game is determined by dice, a 1 being good, and a 6 being bad. Example of gameplay is as follows:

Me: You run up the stairs with your sword raised, mouth open, yelling with the rest of your comrades. You burst into the sunlight and you are momentarily blinded. When your vision clears, you see twenty men armed with clubs running at you.
You: Make a circle around our archers and take a defensive stance. Hold the formation until we kill a good number of them
Me (rolled a 1): You call the order and your men make a circle around the three archers who knock their arrows and begin to fire. The first enemy reaches you and strikes at your legs with his club. You deflect the strike and parry with a slash at his ribs, which makes contact. The man doubles over and you grab his head and bring it down to your knee, leaving the man to bleed to death. Your comrades are doing well and sustaining a few minor injuries. You cut down three more men and are faced with only 12 enemies.


Thats how all choices will be made, sometimes it will be a larger choice like above, or sometimes it will be a smaller choice like "sword coming towards your head whatdo".

Upgrades
In the game, there are eight players, each can upgrade his character. Upgrading a character involves three sections, Abilities, Weapons, Misc/Items and Team. Upgrading cost skill points, which a player is granted after every mission. The way upgrading works is you say what you want to upgrade, an ability, a weapon, or a item, and then I give you a random thing related to whatever you chose. Specific info on each sections:

Abilities
There are five abilities to choose to upgrade, each ability is factored into your rolls, for  better or for worse. Upgrading an ability costs one skill point. Each ability starts off at 0.

Perception - This is the players overall awareness of his surroundings, he  may notice a sound no one else hears or notice the glint of a scope.

Strength - A person with high strength excels at hand-to-hand combat and may get items that other players can't handle.

Agility - A person with high agility can move quicker, and also is proficient in hand-to-hand combat. He also may get items that others can't use.

Willpower - A person with high willpower can withstand more damage, such as being able to get bruised and bloodied in a bar fight but keep on trucking with just as much vigor as before.

Intelligince - A person with high intelligince makes better decisions. This sometimes results in a suggestion or an extra option in a turn. They can also get items others can not use.

Each ability can be upgraded as much as the user likes

Weapons

Weapons can range from anything to a billy club to a shotgun, it all depends on how far into the game you are and what your previous weapons were. When upgrading the weapons sections, you can choose to upgrade a current weapon, or get a new weapon. A weapon can only be upgraded 3 times, and a player can only hold 2 weapons on him at a time, but they can replace weapons with new weapons. Upgrading this section costs 1 skill point.

Mis/Items

Items are things that include body armor, helmets, non lethal weaponry, and other useful things. You can only have up to two items and they cannot be upgraded, but they can be replaced. Getting a new item costs 1 skill point.

Team

Team includes things getting upgraded such as your vehicles, additional info on missions you execute, and other things. Your team always has vehicles at their disposal, which you can use in any of your missions. These can range from a simple police motorcycle to a large armored van. Upgrading this section costs 2 points.

Characters/Character Sheet

There are eight characters to choose from, each will get a different starting weapon and a bonus to one ability. Once a character is chosen, it is locked and no other users can pick that character. The captain has the most influence on the team and is usually called upon to make heavier decisions. Characters are listed below:

Pick any one of the not taken characters above, then fill out the sheet below. I wil give you your gear once you have filled out a sheet. In addition, you get 2 points to use.

Ok added, also forgot to mention the Jelly's character, Dmitri, has a radio, which means he can call in backup and stuff.

One more player and we will start, or if that takes too long we will start sooner.

LAPD: OS
Act 1

Rodrigo had been in the force for 4 years, and had risen through the ranks quickly, showing exceptional skill in the field. He commanded one of the LAPD's Quick Deployment Squads (QDS) that covered the whole of Los Angeles. The crime rate in LA had increased majorly, and the police force had changed with it. Old protocol had been changed, new teams had been created, and stricter laws were being enforced. Rodrigo's job was to stop the big things, like gangs holding hostages, or big time bank robberies. It was his fifth year being in the force, and it seemed to him, every 365 days was worst then the last.

One of Rodrigo's men, Mateo, burst into the teams cooldown room, where they were debriefed and reequipped before and after missions.

"Sir, I just got a call that there has been some shooting down in Watts. Dispatch wants us to get there immediately."

Rodrigo and the rest of the team jumped up and grabbed their gear.

"Alright, Mateo and Dmitri, you take one roller, me and the rest of the team will take the other. Move out!"

In a matter of minuets they were rushing down the streets, sirens blaring. It was midday so visibility was good, no fog or anything.

Mateo was debriefing the captain through the radio, "Supposed six suspects, all armed. There are already two officers on the case but they are pinned down. The suspects have holed up in a corner shop. How do you want to do this boss?"

(psst thats the part where the captain makes up a strategy based on the given information. other people can also give suggestions.)
