I have a dynamic IP and No-IP Dynamic DNS doesn't really work with Apache or any other web server I tried, although FTP server does, plus Verizon's TOS doesn't allow you to run a web server.
A server of any kind. Gonna be great when you get your termination letter haha.

It's the same thing as running a bunch of non-dedicated servers.
Plus, you don't know my address, and don't even bother trying an IP Tracer, it will give you the wrong town.

Everything that must be said about this post has been said.

I await the resolution of this horrible issue with bated breath.

Regardless of service or connection, there's some great business strategies going on by Pacnet.

Kalphiter:
~$50/m rent on server
$6/m per server
$6 x 41 = $246/m
$256/m - $50/m = $206 profit per month

Pacnet:

$1500 server
14 clients
$0/m fee
-$1500 profit

thanks for doing the math on this, I wanted to know how much he was making.

I don't have a credit card, and I have to earn a paypal account from my dad with his credit card on it.

I spend $99 per month, and you have to take out PayPal fees.

I hope you start charging money very soon. Once you charge, you're thrown out of the ballpark.

hey jeep, why don't you help pacnet setup a webserver so we can accurately test bandwidth on our own?
I could probably do that. He'd just need something like Wampserver and a DNS service (many free options).

So he gets ~$156 a month from his service, lugnut.

According to him a dynamic IP won't work with Apache.

Doesn't know what he's doing :cookieMonster:

........ yeah that'd be niiice.

he doesn't even really have to do anything. he just processes payments.

Not for me.

You really don't know what you're doing.
That site doesn't show anything.

I do know what I'm doing. I setup Apache and No-IP correctly and it didn't work for me.

I don't know how it is for you. But for me it does not work.

I could probably run a server with my past experience.

At least a little bit better than these jokers. It's not too hard to do it right.
