i discovered bypassing NAT by using ssh port redirect tunnel things. it seemed to apply here.
i forgot the need to create another tunnel - actually, i don't think you do. let me go try something.
Secure shell tunnel. It would let me bypass Verizon's port 80 block so users connect to a external SSH server which forwards to my port 80.
actually i'm not positive about that. you would need an external server to redirect requests through though...
