Author Topic: Why does crouching look like going prone  (Read 1898 times)

A question i've had in my head for a while.
On options>controls is says crouching is rightshift but when you crouch it looks like this:

This is called going prone.

This is how crouching looks like:

BUDSPAT EXPLAIN THIS MISCONCEPTION.

because crouching would look weird for a blockhead

Kind of hard to make a player look like he's squatting.

Download a Blockhead model and open it in Blender. Position him into a crouch; enlighten me.

I thought second pic was squatting.

That doesn't even look like crouching - and you would still be fairly visible. If anything "crouching" should just be referred to as crawling.

position the right foot behind, so the bottom of the foot is at a 90 degree angle to the floor
then, move the other foot forward to right about where the shoulder is, but still offset from the center the same distance as it is currently

leave the torso pointed as-is

i think the torso should just go down a little

the blockhead doesn't actually have visible legs to bend, so this would make sense

How does one crouch without knees?

Take a quick look on how people who make MOCS make legomen crouch.

I think the blockhead should crouch when still, and when you start moving you crawl. (while holdin shift of course)
If the roof is to near, you'll just keep the crawling position.

it could be like this
