Roblox has encountered an error and needs to quit - Fixed for now

I've been attempting to solve this problem for weeks now, as it shows up randomly, then disappears.

The Roblox technical forum is a living hell for trying to solve problems of this nature. For any of you who play Roblox, this shouldn't be too surprising.


The problem:
Clicking "Play" on any game causes Roblox to bring up the error message specified in the title.
I've tried

• reinstalling Roblox
• restarting my computer
• opening a thread at Roblox (it was ignored)
• ruthlessly scouring the internet

Specs:
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
Intel Core i7-2600 CPU
4.00 GB of RAM
GTX 560


Any help?

stop jumping on the "omg roblox sucks because we are playing blockland" bandwagon and actually post something helpful. roblox isn't a bad game, it just has a terrible commmunity.

are you trying to start it from their wacky browser thing or IE? can you start a game yourself in Studio?

unless you're a child there's no point in paying just to play dress-up.

the game is there and free, everything paid is unnecessary and stupid. (with the exception of multiple places, but that's not worth the price either imo.)

My little sister usually wants me to play with her, so it would be helpful to be able play the game.

Though, if I can't I may have to Self Delete by stab I would still be able to carry on with my life.
