Author Topic: Is there anything that is kinda like DayZ but NOT Apocalypse Rising (Roblox ver)  (Read 8185 times)

I don't feel like getting arma 2 just for DayZ
Is there anything like it?

Oh and I will get DayZ when the standalone comes.

You could always look for a zombie mod of a game you currently have.

I would try that but Minecraft takes a stuffload of bandwidth and i'm on a modem internet.
If it doesn't then someone correct me because i've be interested in it for a while.

DayZ is less a zombie apocalypse mod but more a PVP mod with zombies.
Really it's barely about survival - in the end you will end up going around and shooting other people just for the fun. At first you are all like "I'm gonna play survival" then you get gunned down by other players a few times , get a group maybe , loot some places and finally after a long time you probally sit on a stock of guns and maybe a car with nothing to do but to go and hunt some other players. This path may differ but in the end you will probally have nothing to do anymore and you start to hunt some players.

I just want to get this clear because some people may think that DayZ is MOSTLY about zombies or survival while it's actually not.

CSS zombie mod? I dunno, I've never played DayZ.

this so much
I mean it's fun at first finding gear and stuff, but eventually you'll find rare guns and vehicles as fast as finding hatchets and you'll eventually make camps, no more use surviving because zombies are easy to get rid of so in the end it's all PvP

Basically what Gear said, but I will tell you what I did while I played DayZ in chronological order.

I joined a server and it was Pitch Black and I was so scared and it was so exhilarating. I thought it was epic to find a Lee Einfield and a new Czech Backpack, and binoculars.

I got bored playing alone so I got some friends to purchase the game and play with me. It took hours to learn the map like an expert so that we can easily find each other. We would go from building to building, town to town. Kill zombies, kill players, and have one of us get killed by a player and then have to go meet up again.

Whenever my friends couldn't play I would go on DayZ teamspeak servers and makes friends there and hang out with them. I learned so much from them and learned how to dupe, and exploited the whole damn game entirely.  This is the peak of my enjoyment which was having awesome gear and driving vehicles.

Quickly afterwards the game started to get very boring and repetitive cause I did everything I could in the game. Dupe epic gear, travel with friends, loot, kill others, be killed by others, drive vehicles, fly a helicopter. Then... I quit playing.

I remember a friend and I found a camp and when we loaded everything into their ural we saw we had everything in the game, including a m136, satchels, over 20 ghillie suits, we also found a UAZ, this was also a relatively low pop server so it was never found/raided. I basically quit after that.

Ok I get it don't buy DayZ.

-snip-

DayZ is like minecraft, it's fun when you don't know what you're doing, then you have a lot of fun, then you get bored.
