Yes it is real you dunk. It was made, like all the other robot items in that imgur album, by facepunch members as part of a collaboration similar to night of the living update and the medieval update from a few years back.

Then the robot crate got added to the registry and now everyone's saying that it will contain those robot items made by the community when no one knows that for a fact.
