deleting clientregisry.blob resulted in a new one being made and nothing changed with my TF2. It crashed again.

the point of deleting it was to force steam to redownload the file

I keep crashing. All the time. I'll be playing, and either sound stops completely, and "HL2.exe has stopped working..." will come up, or sound will loop for 2 seconds, then stop, and "HL2.exe has stopped responding..."

Clean reinstall failed
Veryify / defrag files failed
DXLevel 8 or whatever that was called failed
It used to never crash, and suddenly it does...

I'll try to get a bit more info on it soon, there doesn't seem to be an error log or anything...
