Series 21 crates are worth around 1.33 ref I think. We're talking about the rare dropping salvaged crates.

Regular crates aren't worth much. The newest ones that still drop are worth less than stuff. The older ones that don't drop are slightly higher, but still pretty cheap. The exceptions are 30 and 40 (and 50 soon I hope) because of how rare they are. I believe salvaged crates drop about 100 per day, whereas regular crates are somewhere around 5000 per day.
