I speculate future updates for MvM include BLU humans vs RED robots and hopefully at some point, RED and BLU on one team fighting the robots at the main source of the robots, perhaps some kind of factory that Gray Mann has established

The first two i can't say much for because i have no idea, the Engineer's connection with robots may just be fake and was only used to just hint at the MvM update two years into the future so Valve would have time to think of someone else to be the creator of the robots so that the Engineer wouldn't be the bad guy

I saw a comment saying something similar which is how i got my idea of future updates of BLU vs RED robots and then RED and BLU just fighting robots together
