I use my flare gun quite often because if it hits it does more damage to already flaming targets more quickly (my melee accuracy is too awful to warrant using the axetinguisher for anything other than unsuspecting demomen, sniping snipers, and heavies)



a lot of times I'll ignite someone, give them a little burnin' to kick things off, then back off and jam a flare down their throat

pro-tip: see a pyro W+M1ing? switch to soldier and barrage them with rockets, chances are they won't even attempt an airblast

flamethrower + flaregun/axtinguisher is completely fine, that's what i do.
