also when the hell is valve is going to update the bots, red always hides in a corner in degroot keep and you can't practice countering a new "OP" since bots can only use stock weapons

I wouldn't say either are crutches specifically... but i'd agree that liberty launcher is probably the worst rocket launcher in existence

lib launcher = give up a rocket for slightly faster rockets, greatly hampering your damage output in exchange for making rockets easier to place. sounds pretty crutchy to me.

black box = give up a rocket for some minor self healing, greatly hampering your damage output in exchange for minor survivability. sounds crutchy to me, although it actually has a use for decent soldiers.

to me they're like training wheels, but only the lib launcher actually teachs you something that you can apply to the regular rocket launcher, which is aim.

black boxing and lib launching are good enough on their own that you dont need to use the normal rocket launcher

Pretty much this, the play style of it entirely is nothing like any other shooter out right now in my opinion.

the gameplay is a lot simpler, there's no "levelling up" (apart from different weapons, which aren't necessarily upgrades and can be found by anyone)

Today I stun-cleaved an Engineer, then came up behind the Level 3 Sentry he was watching and shot it with my Scattergun while circling it until it was destroyed. Felt incredible.

It has a nice art style, lots of variety regarding playstyle, the community isn't primarily composed of smack-talking children and/or colossal starfishs, and there are stacks upon stacks of collectibles.
