I was surprised to run into two hackers in a row yesterday

The first was a Sniper, he had "LFT" in his name so I was a little more biased to assume he was just good, but Spectator cam threw that out the window as he shot through rocks at people he wasn't even aiming at, and when people finally tried to votekick him he just reconnected as the vote went though (why does that still work anyway?) so I left

Then on the very next server I joined there was a Spy who was jumping and spinning at top speed and landing Ambassador headshots on invisible Spies, the only thing was he was specifically targeting me and I think one other guy who didn't say anything about it so that no one else would be inclined to believe it

I've never really understood the type of person who hacks in multiplayer games, sometimes they're even people with hats and nice weapons and I just have to wonder...you've clearly been playing long enough to acquire that stuff (unless it's stolen I guess, or they got onto someone else's account and want to get it banned?), are you really that bad that you need cheats to do well? Aren't you afraid you'll lose your stuff that's worth actual real-world money when Valve eventually finds out? Or do you really think getting kills with zero effort and ruining the fun of a dozen people at a time is legitimately fun? Some people really need to reevaluate themselves

Guys I'm selling my haunted head hunter for 1p less and I'm going to use the money to buy copies of bad rats and I will give them away.Would anyone be interested in buying?

Someone managed to get TF2 v1.0.0.9 from 2007 working.

Probably thanks to Facepunch

Are you tired of cosmetic items, taunts, noisemakers and all those other action items? Are you sick of weapon qualities like Strange, Vintage and Collector's? Do you hate airblasting and hauling? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then Orange Box Team Fortress 2 is for you!

Essentially, it's Team Fortress 2 ripped from the Orange Box DVD-ROM. This is Team Fortress 2 from 2007. No cosmetic items, no weapon qualities, no hauling or airblasting. This is as basic as you can get.

Nicknine originally uploaded what is known as "Version 2" Team Fortress 2, which is a straight rip from the Orange Box DVD-ROM. With some help from my friends Firebeast and TheRubberFruitFace, a few hours later we had a working dedicated server.

Because of how the client is launched, 2007 TF2 actually pulls your achievements from current TF2. Obviously, because this is the first version of TF2, this only has the original 17 or so achievements. As for stats, it also pulls your player stats from current TF2. There's even a Reset Stats button on the Player Stats menu but I'm not sure if it works. If you earn any of the original achievements on 2007 TF2, they are linked to your Steam profile and will appear as achieved in current TF2.

Want to play the game? Click the Download Client button below to download the game, extract it to a new folder in your steamapps/common location and use the included batch file to start the game!

Want to host a server? Click the Download Server button below to download a lighter version of the client with server DLLs and SRCDS. Extract it to a new folder in your steamapps/common location and once again use the included batch file to start SRCDS. There is a pre-setup server.cfg included that you will want to edit to change the hostname and RCON password.

You may also need to do some quick port forwarding so other people can connect to your server. There's also an old version of SourceMod and Metamod available for download as well, so you can have an admin setup and be able to ban people.

Not all current TF2 plugins will work with this old version of TF2, but I am planning out a custom plugin or two specifically for 2007 TF2 (such as a simplified stat tracking plugin specifically for this)

If you're going to be running a server from the machine that you're playing the game on, you're going to need to do some port forwarding in order for people to connect to your server. Click here to visit PortForward.com's Team Fortress 2-based guide. Simply select your router brand from the provided list to view the instructions.

- Hosting a server on a Linux machine/dedicated server
- HurricaneBot information. Bots in this version of TF2 are potentially really basic, so HurricaneBot may be a good choice if someone can get it recoded for TF2

Client window flickering on startup - Sometimes when you start up the client, it'll flicker between black and your desktop. To fix this, simply hit CTRL + ALT + DEL, open the Task Manager, then close the Task Manager. Click the client on your taskbar to bring the window back up and it should be fine.

Steam.dll is missing - Create a new folder in your "steamapps/common" section, call it whatever you want to, and extract the client files into that folder. Now that the game is in steamapps/common, it'll detect Steam.dll just fine. You'll only be affected by this if you installed your client anywhere other than steamapps/common.

Nicknine - Uploading the Orange Box TF2 rip and working for hours on end to get some form of Linux-based server running. Without Nicknine this wouldn't be possible.
Firebeast - Providing old DLLs for playability
TheRubberFruitFace - Beta testing of the server

Running a server for this? Let me know and I'll add it!

Does anyone think the beggars bazooka is a scum item and a crutch

Does anyone think the beggars bazooka is a scum item and a crutch

Not really, it's very situational. Of course it's one of the better situational items but if you happen to catch a Beggar's off guard they are completely screwed unlike every other Rocket Launcher and can easily result in their death.
