Purposely doesn't even need to be in that sentence.
I asked him for the IP yes.
I wanted the IP to ban it yes.
Don't get what the whole 'purposely' thing is though.
For example:
What I am saying:
I asked Zay for your IP. I did this so I could ban it.
What you are saying:
I asked Zay purposely for your IP. I did this so I could ban it.
The way you say it makes it sound like I did something bad, all I wanted was the ip so I could ban it.
