Author Topic: Planetary Annihilation - We got ALL the stretch goals!  (Read 9642 times)

We have naval units now.

I really hope that even if we don't get the later stretch goals we can get them as future updates. The lava/fake metal planets look really cool.

We need to get more people supporting this.

Castle Story got funded in pretty much a day. This, however, is a steady and slow incline upways towards the goal.

1m dollars just for globe of water? wtf why do they need that much money

I think the reason that Castle Story got funded so fast was that they had built up a pretty big following and it was pretty well known. Planetary Annihilation just kind of came out of the blue. :B

The money is used to pay the developers for each week of work and 3rd party help. So you are paying artists for models and coders for code, and the cofee and donute guy for donuts. Also Lava and Metal planets announced.

They're probably planning a lot for the water planets.

We need to get more people supporting this.

First of all, this isn't an issue of getting more people - both kickstarters have roughly the same amount of supporters.

Second of all:
Castle Story's goal was $80,000.
Planetary Annihilation's goal was $900,000.
That's more than a factor of 10 - of course Castle Story reached it's goal faster.

However, the Castle Story kickstarter was launched July 27th and currently has about $700,000 - Planetary Annihilation was launched August 15th and has over $1,100,000 pledged.

Seems like Planetary Annihilation has plenty of support, especially considering NO work on the actual game has been done - the whole video is just a concept, a sketch. Castle Story has real, tangible, interesting gameplay.

Really hoping they hit the third stretch goal, and hopefully they can add the ones they don't reach after release as updates.

WE HAVE TO GET GALACTIC WAR.

but I don't want a bunch of giant space ships ruining my ground battles D:.

Ok, I wasn't going to donate but now galactic war is going to make me.

Well I guess space navies would be useful for blockading planets and creating a landing zone for your army to be dropped off onto the planet. I just don't want the game to boil down into who has the biggest space navy which would defeat the purpose of having ground forces.
