Can I just not read 24 pages and say the OP is butthurt because some chick has more attention than him?
I have no problem with Bubba. I've been roaming and posting in this forum for 3 years, seen pretty much all the popular attention whores that came through our town, showed themselves off, got verbally molested, then moved on.
Bubba does not fit the criteria that defines a real attention whore. She's just another passerby trying to make it through this tough community.
She's female. We have enough proof to believe 100% that she is indeed female.
From what I've seen, the newer members swarm the females, being little stuffs and asking for nudes and brown-nosing. The more senior members just give a second glance and say hello or other things. Some though, get angry at the female for her rapid gain of attention, calling her a whore and insulting her looks because she's young and suddenly making fame.
This rapid growth of fame is not because she got down on her knees and gave everybody head for it, it's because 75% of this forum's userbase consists of horny, angst teenage boys.
Yeah sure, she may be relishing in this sudden burst of fame for now, but hey, who wouldn't? I'd feel pretty good about myself if everyone started brown-nosing me, but I'm just a normal guy on the internet who plays a few games, goes to work, and sleeps, so nobody would.
Look at the senior members who have been around since before retail, before RTB. Even Bisjac and CaptMeat no longer receive the constant praise they did back in V10 and so on. They just go about their business and put in their 2 cents on whatever thread they feel like for a little while, and suddenly they're invisible again. (However, Capt doesn't really post/play much anymore I believe.)
Bubba never asked to be praised by little boys who jerk their richards to her and stuff their noses up her ass. She just wanted to be a member of a community.
Though I do love this community, and believe me, I've tried to leave, but it just keeps sucking me back in, a lot of you still have to learn how to read people over the internet. I've learned. I know enough already to tell you all that many of you do not truly know the definition of a forum whore. You take any female on the internet, see she has more popularity than you, then you watch her.
As soon as she even gives a hint of her enjoying this fame, you all jump the gun and scream "Whore! Whore! Get off the internet you harlot!"
That means, according to you, a lot of people on this forum would be considered an attention whore. Those people are just males. So you don't pay much attention to them.
If this was me 2 years ago, I would've found this sickening, or probably hopped into the bandwagon and screamed at Bubba that she was a whore. But, through a lot of lurking and reading and learning, I have gained enough forum maturity to understand all this.
Bubba is not an attention whore. You simply claim her to be one out of possible jealousy and misunderstanding of the phrase.
Popularity on this forum to me is a joke. I can admit right now that I have very little. You either have people that like you on this forum, or you don't and you just deal with it. This isn't a caste system where leaders are determined by popular power. This is a dictatorship based forum community with one starfish man who decides who stays and who dies a horrible, painful death.
I can say right now that I like Bubba, probably because she reminds me strongly of my much loved girlfriend. But she's also showing signs of intelligence.
