And legalizing it sure would decrease it?

Also, it's public property, meaning the public has the right to disagree with druggies loving up the place.

Oh, but I guess it's okay to see a bunch of crackheads running around, as long as I don't own the place.

What happens if you are caught using drugs in Portugal?
Drug users must meet with a panel of psychologists, social workers, and legal advisors, and agree to undergo treatment for addiction instead of going to prison. This penalty covers all recreational drugs, from marijuana to heroin. Possession over a certain amount can still land you in jail, as can dealing and trafficking.

It's like you're telling me to read something you dug up somewhere withing ~15 seconds of googling.

Oh wait.

Its funny because I totally haven't read and educated myself about this subject voluntarily for two years or anything. You obviously didn't read the whole article. It isn't totally free there, but it is substantially lower whilst being mostly decriminalized and that is the point. I have also known about the Cato Institute for quite some time and it is one of the most reputable and objective think tanks in the world.

Isn't meth debilitatingly addictive compared to marijuana though?

Yes. Its still someones choice.

I didn't wanna continue watching but it was so informative ;_;

But critics of the policy, such as the Association for a Drug-Free Portugal, say overall consumption of drugs in the country has actually risen by 4.2 percent since 2001 and claim the benefits of decriminalization are being "over-egged."

Except it's totally debatable whether this will work on any place other than Portugal.

And for someone who has "educated" yourself about this you probably find security in knowing you can link me to an article and assuming the statistics you just happened to skim over are ireefutable evidence that letting people do drugs will stop them from doing drugs.

Notice how they don't allow the outright marketing/ open consumption of drugs, instead they offer counseling to get OVER the addiction (pretty much not even close to what point you were trying to make).

It wasn't informative it was scare tactics. It follows the "Just say something over and over again and eventually people will accept it as fact" tactic. It's the same way Riddler took control of Germany in the 1930s.

these are good ads, I'm very anti-drug and I support these videos

Are you seriously comparing an anti meth ad to the tactics used by Riddler?

Let me make a point from the video we all just watched. Why did every single person in that video try meth? Because it's "cool". Why is it cool? Something called the Forbidden Fruit Theory. People think it's cool and edgy to do drugs because it's illegal. when people legalize drugs it looses the whole "cool factor" and everyone stops giving a stuff and move on to the next edgy thing.

Are you seriously comparing an anti meth ad to the tactics used by Riddler?
Maybe because its the same thing?
