No, it's a 4-pronged hook, like a fishing hook, attached to a rope, that you throw.
A Hookshot is a spearhod on an automated chain, that pulls you to where the spearhead hit.

yuki your correct but who teh hell would want to make a grapeling hook wen its just like a hookshot...well it does the same thing pretty much. Q: plz make a grapenling hook A: nah a hookshot is better and it owns a grapling hook

Hookshot is better by a long shot! The model is decent too. At first I thought the model came with the game! (i'm not a big zelda fan so I haven't seen too many hookshots)

They aren't the same, a grappling hook is a hook on a rope, which you throw, to swing or scale.
A Hookshot instantly PULLS you to your destination.
Grappling hook is better.

hookshot sux. Now the clawshot thats awesome and double clawshot even better claw shot is grapling hook and hookshot combined.
