Again, I think anybody who is using the "you'll be socially disadvantaged" argument isn't considering the context of home school, but assuming it means doing your entire education in a dark room alone. You could use home schooling as an excuse to be anti-social if you wanted, but that is a separate issue.
I'd advise that the best way to decide if home school for you is to consider:
> If you would work better at home
> If you are able to self manage
> If you are not using it as a shield for human interaction or as a way to avoid studying properly
> If you personally feel it is best for you and your study, and not just a way to sleep in late
> If it is practically a better option (if you live in a rural area for example)
I don't think home schooling is wise for primary education personally but thats a different thing entirely.
