Author Topic: Marijuana Legalization  (Read 8332 times)

I was responding to you, Nobot. That's why I quoted you. You quoted my post that was in support of legalization, and said why it should be legalized.
You were responding to me on this post?:

Ugh! You're impenetrable. Why am I even trying?

Smoke of all kinds is bad. Got it? No one goes around burning coal at a park. In your ideal world, people would go around smoking weed at parks. People at the park would get extra smoke in their air. In my ideal world, people would smoke weed and cigarettes at home, and the park goers would only get a tiny bit of the smoke, instead of a relatively large amount. You seem to think that if something is bad, we should make it worse. That makes no sense.
This has nothing to do with coal. I'm not saying my idea is any better for the environment, because, no one is going to smoke enough to affect the environment. They can affect people within 25 feet of them, though.

Well maybe you're the .8% who can actually drive better while intoxicated. For the other 99.2%, the chances of killing someone in a car accident is heightened while high.

Who would even want to drive while high or intoxicated?

Only idiots would do that, we cannot do anything about that except enforce those laws more aggressively and put more policemen out there.

No, I was responding to you on the one that I quoted you on... That one I tried posting right after Goth77.
Because when you blow out a cloud of smoke it travels 25 feet horizontally right? Hot air rises. In order for second hand smoke to be considered you would have to be within 5 feet of another persons face, and blow it directly at them. Ever heard of a shotgun?
What does a shotgun have to with anything? And yes, hot air rises. Smoke does not. Smoke sinks. Smoke is denser than air. And I'm not sure if you don't have a sense of smell, or what, but it's very obvious that after someone smokes, the stink stays there after they finish, and spreads a little bit.

Just think of what legalizing it would do to people using it for medical reasons.  I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be able to afford a constant, hugely inflated drug that is necessary to my "well being"

Do you necessarily have to be stoned to know the affects of a substance? No.
I do agree that marijuana would cause most likely the same reaction as alcohol possibly, slurred vision etc, but the same idiots who drink and drive would smoke and drive as well.

In order to know how that substance effects you, yes. For other people you might look up the side effects of marijuana but it is different for each person. Wikipedia cannot explain personal behavior, although it can attempt to based on other experiences. No person is the same, however.

Shotgun: The form of blowing smoke into another person's face while they, in turn, inhale it.
Smoke is hot air. If smoke sunk then the ground would be filled with pollution and people would die constantly from smoke. Yes the smell will retain but the smoke itself will rise.

Medicaid? Medicare?

The smell is caused by the smoke. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

EDIT: Apparently I was wrong about hot smoke being denser than air, but it cools very, very quickly, so it starts sinking very soon.

Are you one of those people that believe the shotgun is a icredibly short range, or are you referring to the shotgun scene in platoon?

Badspot wants marijuana legalized. He even said it when I was on his server back in V20.

The smell is caused by the smoke. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

The smell is caused by the substance at hand. Marijuana has a distinct smell even when its not being burned. Do you know anything about weed?

I think you are smoking too much of it because I don't get what your are getting at.

I'm not specifically talking about weed. I'm talking about any kind of smoke. But you completely ignored everything else I said, good job.

Pot is going to smell like pot even when people are not smoking it. If there are 100 people at a park each with a bag of bud in their pockets, I am about 100% sure you are going to smell weed.

It seems like a lot of people in this thread are overlooking the BIG question: Should Marijuana be legalized?

The simple answer is yes! Industrial purposes poses no argument and that's what matters. If people smoke it than hey thats cool but just be responsible. If you can't then you will go to jail, just like someone who is drunk. Anyone who says pot should be illegal is denying the fact that hemp can be used for other things besides smoking.

I'm not specifically talking about weed. I'm talking about any kind of smoke.

Then post in another thread because this one is about marijuana. Better yet, start a thread about smoke.

good job.

got my cookie award yet homie

;)

My point applied to marijuana. It just applied to cigarette smoke, as well. Anyway, the point I should have made, is that I'm not saying the smell is harmful. I was saying that because you can still smell it, you know it's still there. It's there whether the plant itself smells or not. It's there whether the smoke smells or not. I was trying to come up with a way to tell you that, since I doubt you'd accept studies about it.
