Author Topic: Life Sized Pokedex 3D AR Markers: Has Anyone Done This Before?  (Read 5637 times)

So, I went online and found all the Pokedex 3D AR markers, and thought, "wouldn't it be cool to take photos of life-sized Pokemon using these?".  So, I printed out some resized ones.  Joltik is the only one that's technically life sized.  Krookodile is close, but still not quite right.  As for Cocigaretterigus, well...  Clearly not right.  I'll make larger, more accurate ones later.  But, for now, here's what I have.

Joltik doesn't seem to like cherubs.

Showing off the not-quite-finished tile floor in my kitchen.  Oh, and a Pokemon.

Nothing out of the ordinary here...

This will be even better when Pokedex 3D Pro comes out.  So much Pikachu/Gen 1 Starters.

this would be cool on a vita

Joltik is adorable.

When Pokedex 3D Pro comes out, someone make a life size Wailord.

As soon as it comes out, I'm on it.  :V  Or, I would be if I had several hundred dollars worth of paper and ink.  And a helicopter for taking the photos.  Although, I am going to try to do this with a fairly large Pokemon of some type.

that weird guy on deviantart who photoshops characters and does a dumb pose now doesn't have to photoshop them in!

Yeah, except these markers have to be fully visible in the photos, and it works best when they're on the ground/floor.  He could lie down, crouch down, or just have someone hold the 3DS far enough away to get all of him and the AR marker in the shot.  Any way he does it, I guess he'll just look more ridiculous.

Okay, I finally achieved true life size.  Behold, Zoroark!  Also, apparently, the markers don't actually need to be fully visible.

Now I can go around pretending to be an actual Pokemon trainer, like I did when I was a kid!  Yeah!  :V

lol, he's like "what the forget is that thing?".

"Just going to the fridge to get a...  HOLY stuff!!"

Also, I don't Zoroark is that big.
It just looks too big for 5' 3''.

I thought so too, so I checked, and it's the right size.  Though, it might be helpful to mention that I didn't include his mane in the measurement, which basically just means it's serving its natural function as a mane and making him look bigger.

This is so freaking cool.
I would buy one if they were in stores.

But since they're not...
How did you make them?

I saw that ninja.  iPhone?

And I just resized them in Illustrator, printed them piece-by-piece on standard letter sized paper, and then cut off the margins and taped them together.
