Author Topic: 3rd person aiming  (Read 2114 times)

if you test with the default gun, shooting at a spot in front of you will cause the projectile to go there in first person, in 3rd person it goes straight ahead of the gun which is slightly to the right of the target in first person

Its actually easy to aim in third person if your facing where you want to aim and can move your body quick enough.

yes
this can't be done with a simple crosshair put over the screen like in first person

yes it can

use math

So this topic is saying make 3rd person like skyrim where you can still see the crosshairs.

So this topic is saying make 3rd person like skyrim where you can still see the crosshairs.

skyrim isn't a shooter

more like fallout 3

weapons fire straight in third person whereas in first person they try to actually get to a central point (the crosshair)
to see this, just fire an automatic weapon in first person then quickly change to third person; your shots won't be hitting quite the same spot

thus, this would not be as simple as just sticking a crosshair on the center of the screen

yes it can

use math
i somehow don't think you know what you're talking about
in first person the crosshair is stationary, something that simple can't be done for 3rd person

Can't have a crosshair, but I forget why.
it would be going thru ur hed :PPPPPP

i didn't say it should be stationary

use math

not that hard to avoid if you have ~normal fingers.

Try it Port.

When did I say it would be a good idea to make it as an add-on?

i didn't say it should be stationary

yet i was only saying that it can't be done stationary and you disagreed before

I never put words in your mouth. But I want to see how this is possible.
