Author Topic: Render gamemode  (Read 738 times)

My idea:

"Render"

It would be like slender, except that the entity would be a renderman, and it wouldn't be notes you were looking for, it would be files on the renderman.

Basically, it would be a large arena of forest, and in two clearings there would be a nuclear power plant, and in the other: a campsite.

Make this someone? :D

how would this work well multiplayer i wonder

My idea:

(slender dosn't atack before you get the first note)

People play multiplayer because they want to enjoy the game with other people. You would have to modify the gameplay in some way to better account for the existence of other people that doesn't necessarily depend on them working together or doing things right, unless you can properly do the former in a way that actually works.

...Separate arenas? :D

Slender was designed to be enjoyed by just one person. If you want to port this same experience to a multiplayer experience, you can't just sloppily increase the number of singleplayer experiences. Especially in a game like this where you have a limited amount of resources.

Say you have the arena's brick count at 10,000. You have to have an extra ten thousand bricks for every player. Every player that joins is an extra load on everyone due to sudden ghosting and placing of large amounts of bricks.

So then how could it be balanced...

>>Slayer
>>OMA
>>Specialized render playertype someone made.
>>well built map
>>not a lot of light or resources.
>>game on

Doing this will essentially create a Slender-themed TDM.

I think Jeep is making something like this.

A very limited Slender-themed TDM.
